The Centre

Known within the local community ‘Mickleham Road ELC’, has a range of exciting, resource-rich environments – including three spacious outdoor yards. The 110-place centre, which has parking and easy access to public transport, features pergola areas, shady trees, vegetable gardens, natural climbing structures and a range of age-specific ateliers.

With a community-minded team of Educators who have been with the centre for a long time, we are proud to have a culturally diverse team and celebrate a variety of cultures and holidays throughout the year. Children get out and about on regular excursions, so we have a great connection with the surrounding community. We have a lovely park within walking distance of the centre, so all age groups join in.

The Role

As an Early Childhood Teacher, it is your role to encourage key stakeholder engagement and participation in curriculum decision making, in addition to guiding and supporting colleagues with their pedagogical practice. You will also enjoy;

  • Supporting Educators to assess each child’s learning and development in relation to the approved learning framework, other contemporary theories and the Guardian curriculum
  • Guiding Educators as they critically reflect on each child’s learning and development and on their own thinking as part of everyday practice
  • Developing Educators’ skills and abilities in completing high quality documentation

To be considered, you will have

  • Tertiary Qualifications (University Degree or equivalent) in Early Childhood Education as approved by ACECQA.
  • Current Teacher’s Accreditation/ Registration (South Australia, New South Wales and Victoria)
  • Proven knowledge of the National Quality Framework
  • Previous experience working in the early years sector (desirable)
  • Valid Working with Children’s Check or state-specific equivalent
